STORY
Wicked Publishing was founded in September of 2021 by 5 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students: Halle Starns, Elsa Rasmussen, Vana Pina, Julia Klug, and John Carpenter. They serve as Design Director, Acquisitions Editor, Marketing Director, Copy Editor, and Managing Editor, respectively.
Wicked Publishing was founded with the goal to always provide wicked good books and stories; our first Anthology, Legacy, and Influence of a Witchy Sort: A Collection of Poems, Short Stories, Historical Accounts, and Folk-Lore, is out now!
Meet The Team
Halle Starns
Halle Starns was raised in Ashland, Nebraska. Growing up, she could be found with her nose in a book no matter where she was. Later on, Halle found a passion for writing and design working as editor-in-chief for her highschool yearbook. Currently, she is a junior journalism major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Julia Klug
Julia Klug is the Copy Editor for Wicked Publishing.She is an English Major, with a history minor, in her Sophomore year in college. In her free time, she loves to read and write.
John Carpenter
John Carpenter, raised in Sioux City Iowa, always had a passion for literature. From Shakespear to superhero comics, he always loved the written word in whatever form it may come in. Later in life, he found a passion for organizing groups to facilitate projects bigger than himself. Currently, he is a third year Communication Studies student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Elsa Rasmussen
Elsa Rasmussen is the acquisitions editor for Wicked Publishing. She is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying English. In her spare time, she enjoys writing her own short stories and is currently working on the first installment of a fantasy series.
Vana Pina
Vana Pina was raised in South Sioux City, Nebraska. She is currently a History and English major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and serves as Marketing Director for Wicked Publishing. In her free time, Vana can be found scribbling story ideas on napkins, lost in whatever world a book has brought her, or typing away on her laptop.
